The Sylvania 300 is one of two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup held annually at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon , New Hampshire . The other is the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 .

history

The race was first held in 1997 and usually takes place in mid-September. Once the race was postponed over time, and once it was driven with air flow limiters .

2000

After Adam Petty trained for the Busch 200 and Kenny Irwin Jr. in the Busch Grand National Series . in thatlook.com 300 had a fatal accident, air flow limiters were used in the Sylvania 300 of the year 2000 . This makes it the only race besides those on the super speedways in which air flow limiters were used. In this race, Jeff Burton won after leading all of the 300 laps, which is very rare in NASCAR.

2001

The Sylvania 300 of 2001, then still called "New Hampshire 300", was scheduled for September 16, 2001. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 , the race was postponed. However, since there was no longer any weekend free, the race had to be moved to November at the end of the season. It was held on November 23, 2001, the day after Thanksgiving . Goodyear brought a special tire for the race as New Hampshire temperatures are very low in November. Usually, the races that take place very early or very late in the season are held in warmer regions like Florida . The winner of the race was Robby Gordon . For him it was the first Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) victory of his career.
