Sylvia Schopf

Sylvia Schopf (* 1956 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German actress , journalist and writer .

Life

Sylvia Schopf grew up in the Rhine-Main area. After studying art, theology and education, she lived in southern Spain for two years. This was followed by an acting training in Germany in Frankfurt am Main and Munich, in order to then appear as an actress in independent theaters . In 1986 she founded the mobile theater group Krick-Krack Theaterwerkstatt together with the Munich theater maker Kelle Riedl , which she has been running solely as a Krick-Krack narrative theater since Riedl's death in 1993 . In addition to her acting activities, she has written plays for children and adults.

Since 1992 she has been writing and producing articles and features on cultural and historical topics for various radio stations ( Deutschlandradio Kultur , Hessischer Rundfunk , Bayerischer Rundfunk , Deutschlandfunk , WDR ) .

She has also published numerous articles and articles on cultural-historical topics and on travel topics in newspapers and magazines. a. for Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung , Darmstädter Echo , Frankfurter Rundschau , Deutsches Allgemeine Sonntagsblatt , Stuttgarter Zeitung and FAZ . She also worked temporarily as a writer for television.

Since 1992 she has published books for adults and children, a. a. published by Herder and Annette Betz , and since 2015 she has also published new editions of out-of-print titles in the Gegenwind edition . She has received scholarships for her book publications, including a. with a travel grant to Mexico from the Association of German Writers and a grant from the Bertelsmann Foundation .

She appears throughout Germany and abroad with her storytelling programs and readings in cultural centers, libraries, theaters and museums. She also leads workshops for children as well as practical seminars and advanced training for educators on the topics of language and theater.

Sylvia Schopf lives in Frankfurt am Main .
