Sylvinho (born April 12, 1974 in São Paulo ; real name Silvio Mendes Campos Júnior ) is a former Brazilian - Spanish soccer player and current soccer coach.

Career

Sylvinho began his professional career in 1994 with Corinthians São Paulo , with whom he won the Brazilian Cup in 1995 . In addition to several other titles, he won the national championship with Corinthians in 1998 .

In 1999, the left-back moved to the English first division club Arsenal , in whose team he was to replace the then 35-year-old Nigel Winterburn in the long term . He played for the top club until 2002, with whom he won the English championship and the FA Cup . He was the first Brazilian to join the Gunners' team . Trainer

In his first coaching position, he was head coach from July to the beginning of October 2019 for 3 months at Olympique Lyon, but was dismissed after only 11 games due to unsuccessfulness. His successor was the former coach of Olympique de Marseille, Rudi Garcia.
