useful information
Hooker and Romano report on the radio as Unit 4 Adam 30 . This radio signal is similar to the label used by the Los Angeles Police Department and the confirmation with Roger is consistent with the behavior of the Los Angeles Police Department . In fact, the location is Los Angeles and the unit designation 4 Adam 30 corresponds to the vehicle manned by two police officers with the superior unit 30 at the Hollenbeck division of the LAPD, which is responsible for Boyle Heights , Lincoln Heights and El Sereno , the easternmost part of Los Angeles .
As a throwback to his earlier role in Star Trek as Captain James T. Kirk, Shatner chose his previous two initials in reverse order.
In the first episodes of the series, the police cars used are of the Dodge Monaco type (identical to the Plymouth Fury ), in later episodes or seasons it is the Dodge St. Regis , which is also driven by the title character of the TV series Sledge Hammer . Both the Monaco and the St. Regis can be seen in many episodes of the well-known A-Team series.
criticism
Despite its high popularity with viewers, the series has been criticized by critics and real police officers for its often clichéd portrayal of the fight against crime. Relatives or old friends of the police officers are often involved in criminal activities. Furthermore, the villains - Latinos, psychopaths, arsonists and vengeful ex-police officers - can very often be recognized as such at first glance. It was also criticized that no opportunity was missed to show bare skin (shorts and tight jerseys for women or Adrian Zmed with a bare torso).
Guest appearances
Guest stars included Sharon Stone , Leonard Nimoy , Jerry Lee Lewis , Lisa Hartman , Richard Hatch , Joe Penny , Tori Spelling , Heather Thomas , Lee Bryant and David Caruso . Nimoy also directed one episode.
