history

The TSV Solln was founded on December 19, 1931 by footballers and strength athletes in the “Alte Post” restaurant on today's Wilhelm-Leibl-Platz . The first chairman was Ludwig Haas. Since then there have been a total of 16 members who have held the office of 1st chairman, with Hans Bauer (24 years old) and Wolfgang Czech (15 years old) in office the longest.

The first soccer game took place in January 1932 at the sponsor club SC Baierbrunn. The gymnasts first met from 1934 in the Solln section of the Munich AV gymnastics community, but were incorporated into TSV Solln from 1947 after the war. In general, the times of the Second World War did not leave the TSV Solln without a trace. Sports operations were completely stopped during the war.

After the war, football was resumed, at that time as SpVgg Solln / Forstenried (1947–1949). In 1949 the club became independent again as TSV Solln. In 1953 it was entered in the register of associations as a non-profit sports club. From this year the company team at the Alkor factory was also affiliated to TSV Solln as a company sports club. Until 1960, the footballers shuttled back and forth between the C and B classes and, after interesting duels with TSV Grünwald, achieved the coveted promotion to the A class in 1960, at that time the third highest class in amateur football, behind the first and second amateur league.

From 1972 to 1980 the ice rifle division was the most successful division: the men in the Bavarian League , the women even in the Bavarian Ice Stock League . However, due to a lack of young people, the competition had to be stopped a few years ago.

In 1973 TSV Solln had ten football teams (adults and youth). In 1981, for the 50th anniversary of the club, the TSV received a club flag for the first time, donated by the Majeron family and the Reis bakery and confectionery. In 1993, the long-standing 1st chairman Wolfgang Czech ended his 15-year position on the board, at this point the longest term of office of 1st chairman at TSV Solln to date. During his tenure, the association grew to 1,700 members, around 50% of whom were young people.

The successor to Wolfgang Czech as 1st Chairman was his deputy Hans Bauer, who was secretary, treasurer, 2nd board member for over 50 years and a total of 24 years as 1st chairman member of the executive board.

One of the greatest milestones in the history of TSV Solln: Since 2011, the club has had a completely renovated sports facility with two natural and three artificial turf pitches, a beach volleyball court and a two-field sports hall. The former district sports facility was finally transferred by the City of Munich in 2012 - on the basis of a heritable building right contract with a term until the end of 2035. However, this was preceded by tough and long-term negotiations between the two contractual partners, represented on the Sollner side by the 1st chairman Hans Bauer .

As of December 31, 2015, TSV Solln had reached the new record number of 3,300 members, including 1,700 young people. This means that TSV Solln was and is by far the largest club in Solln, with a focus on youth sports. Several restructuring of the administration with the establishment of a half-day office since 1980 became necessary.

The TSV is currently made up of eleven specialist sports departments, sorted by year of foundation below: football (1931), gymnastics (1934), table tennis (1955), handball (1968), volleyball (1975), swimming (1976), skiing and mountain sports ( 1978), chess (1994), REHA-Sport (2003), Tang Soo Do (2005) and basketball (2016).

Sporting successes

In the mid-1990s, the men's handball team made it to the Oberbayern regional league, but this team had to be disbanded two years later due to a lack of young talent (due to the lack of a sports hall). So the female youth teams and the women’s team could barely be maintained (training in the Ramersdorf district ), but they all played top-class: the district, district upper league and the female C-youth even Bayern league . Since the turn of the millennium, handball has continued to boom in Solln: The handball girls celebrated great successes: 2 × Upper Bavarian champions in the A and B youth.

The volleyball men rose step by step from the district class via the district league, state league to the Bayern league (2015) until the team had to be withdrawn from the game due to the departure of key performers. The beach volleyball girls mixed vigorously with the top teams at the city, district and district championships.

The youth swimmers are successfully represented at the district championships and for several years took part in the Munich 24-hour championships in the Olympic Hall in individual and team competitions. Martina Conrad achieved 1st place in the women's race over 30 km in 2002, and in 2005 she even achieved 36 km in 24 hours.

The gymnastics department grew continuously to over 1,800 members today.

The football department has had its greatest successes in the club's history since 2003: In 2003, the first team became Munich indoor champions and Upper Bavarian indoor runners-up, and in 2004 they were promoted to the district league and were involved there for seven years, until the big crash came down to the district class. For the first time in 2005, a youth team made it into the highest Upper Bavarian league with the D-Jugend (including with FC Bayern Munich , TSV 1860 Munich , FC Ingolstadt , Wacker Burghausen , SpVgg Unterhaching ). The Munich city championship in the hall was won several times among the boys ( D and E youth ). Two outstanding successes have also been achieved at the Merkur Cup , in which around 450 youth E-teams take part every year: in 2002 a sixth place and in 2006 even a third place behind FC Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich.

Girls and women’s football has been in competition at TSV Solln since 2000. The women's team of TSV Solln rose to the end of the 2016/2017 season as runner-up in the Munich district league for the first time in the Oberbayern district league and in the same season made it into the finals of the Upper Bavarian indoor futsal championship .

Sports facility

Up to its current domicile, the former district sports facility at Herterichstrasse 141, which was taken over by the City of Munich in 2012 and was built in 1978, the TSV Solln used four different locations in Solln as football pitches:

  1. today's Watteaustraße,
  2. today's Schuchstrasse,
  3. today's Sörgelstrasse and
  4. former garbage dump at Herterichstraße 119.

The gymnasts first met from 1934 in the Solln section of the Munich AV gymnastics community in the only gym in Solln at the time, the small, old gym of the Herterich School, which is now a listed building . In 1949 football was resumed on a meadow next to the dump and replaced in 1952 by a grass football field, which was used until 1990.

As a replacement for the second football pitch on Schuchstrasse, on which a block of flats was built, DEBA built an alternative football pitch for TSV Solln on Waterloostrasse in 1965. There, at the request of TSV Solln, the city of Munich built the district sports facility with three football fields in stages between 1975 and 1983, but canceled the originally planned fourth football field, the clubhouse and the multi-purpose hall for cost reasons.

In 1990 the TSV lost the fourth (alternative) soccer field at Herterichstraße 119 due to the establishment of an asylum seeker village and had to share the remaining three soccer fields of the district sports facility with three other clubs, which then with 36 teams, including 29 teams from TSV Solln were overloaded. Since then, the struggle for more than a decade to expand the district sports facility began. For almost 20 years the TSV fought for a replacement for the lost fourth soccer field (old Herterichplatz) and since 1999 for the urgently needed large sports hall. Under the direction of the two board members Hans Bauer and Willi Armbruster, after overcoming many obstacles, the construction of the club's own sports hall the size of a handball field for the sports of handball, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and soccer, plus two gymnastics rooms for small group gymnastics, rehabilitation sports, table tennis and Tang Soo Do. The new club-owned hall was put into operation in October 2011.

At the same time, the over 30-year-old district sports facility was refurbished together with the City of Munich, now with three artificial turf pitches in various sizes and a beach volleyball court and was taken over by TSV Solln on the basis of a heritable building right contract for 25 years.

Clubhouse

On the former garbage dump at Herterichstraße 119, a small clubhouse was built within two years, which had existed for almost 50 years since its inauguration in 1950 before it was demolished again in 2000 due to the construction of a residential complex.

Under the direction of the two board members Wolfgang Czech and Hans Bauer, the club built a club house for the second time, which was inaugurated in April 1987 next to the district sports facility at 141 Herterichstrasse. The Sollner shooting clubs and the traditional costume club also found a permanent home there. In 2004 it was expanded with a winter garden extension.

On March 9, 2016, Hans-Josef Kerat was elected as the new department head.

The establishment of this department was a novelty at the time: skiing, hiking and mountaineering in a general sports club, which until then was the domain of ski clubs and alpine clubs. A prescription is also possible for arrhythmias. Pacemaker patients and some patients with stenting or bypass due to coronary heart disease without a previous infarction are also currently taking part.

For people with diabetes or asthma, targeted sporting activity under professional guidance is extremely helpful in order to effectively counteract the worsening of the disease.
