Performing in tournaments
The Taiwanese national futsal team first appeared at the 2001 Asian Futsal Cup and has since taken part regularly in the continental tournament. The team started seven times in the final round, but never made it through the group stage.
In 2004 Taiwan hosted the Futsal World Cup and therefore automatically qualified for the finals. Against Spain, Ukraine and Egypt they stayed without a point and were eliminated as bottom of the table after the preliminary round.
