The Saudi Arabian national futsal team is a representative selection of Saudi Arabian futsal players . The team represents the Saudi Arabian Football Association at international matches. The team took part in the first Futsal World Cup under the auspices of FIFA in 1989, but has only appeared sporadically since then.
Performing in tournaments
In 1989, Saudi Arabia was invited by FIFA to take part in the first ever Futsal World Cup in the Netherlands. In a group with Spain, the eventual world champions Brazil and Hungary, the preliminary round ended after three defeats in the last place in the table. Until the next international appearance of a Saudi Arabian futsal team, it took until 2007, when a team took part in the Asian Indoor Games in Macau. Since then, the national team has not appeared internationally. In 2009 the team was registered for qualifying for the 2010 Asian Cup , but withdrew after the draw.
