Tajinder Pal Singh Toor (born November 13, 1994 in Khosa Pando , Punjab ) is an Indian athlete who specializes in the shot put.

Athletic career

Tejinder Pal Singh gained his first international experience at the Summer Universiade 2015 in Gwangju , where he finished fifth with 19.24 m. In 2017 he took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and won the silver medal behind Irani Ali Samari with 19.77 m . He then won the silver medal at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat at the beginning of September with 19.18 m, this time he had to admit defeat to Kazakh Ivan Ivanov . In 2018 he took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where he also won the silver medal with 19.18 m. In April he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished eighth there with 19.42 m in the final. At the end of August, he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and won there with a new game and national record of 20.75 m ahead of the Chinese Liu Yang .

In 2019 he won the Asian Championships in Doha for the first time with 20.22 m ahead of the Chinese Wu Jiaxing . He received a bye for the world championships there in October , where he was eliminated with 20.43 m in qualification . He was then at the Military World Games in Wuhan with a width of 20.36 m sixth. At the beginning of December he won the South Asian Games in Kathmandu with a new player record of 20.03 m.

In 2017 and 2019, Pal Singh became Indian champion in the shot put.
