Taryn Linley Gollshewsky (born May 18, 1993 in Bundaberg ) is an Australian discus thrower .

Athletic career

Taryn Gollshewsky gained her first international experience at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Brixen , where she finished twelfth with 43.84 m. A year later she retired from the Junior World Championships in Moncton, Canada with 43.97 m in qualification. In 2014 she represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , where she finished ninth with a width of 53.04 m, as well as at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju , South Korea , where she hurled the discus at 53.91 m . In 2017 she qualified for the first time for the World Championships in London , but was eliminated there with 54.29 m in the qualification . At the Student World Games in Taipei two weeks later, she won the bronze medal behind the Germans Kristin Pudenz and Valarie Allman from the United States with 58.11 m .

In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast , where she finished fifth with a width of 55.47 m.

In 2019 Gollshewsky became the Australian champion in the discus throw. She completed a Masters in Teaching and Exercise and Sports Science from Central Queensland University in Rockhampton .
