Tasna Buen Retiro is a settlement in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Tasna Buen Retiro is the second largest town in the canton of Río Blanco in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Cotagaita in the province of Nor Chichas . The village is located at an altitude of 4000 m on the eastern edge of the volcanic cone of Cerro Tasna , which rises at 5056 m from the ridge of the Cordillera de Chichas and has rich ore deposits mainly of bismuth , tin , tungsten , copper and gold .

Tasna Buen Retiro is located on the southeast edge of the Bolivian Altiplano between the Cordillera de Chichas and the Cordillera de Lípez to the south . The climate in the region is a typical daytime climate , in which the mean temperature differences between day and night are more pronounced than between the seasons.
The annual average temperature of Tasna Rosario is 6 ° C (see climate diagram Tasna Rosario), the monthly values fluctuate between 2 ° C in June / July and 8 to 9 ° C in the summer months from November to March. Tasna Buen Retiro is located off the general road network of Bolivia at a distance of 325 road kilometers southwest of Potosí , the capital of the department.
From Potosí, the national highway Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction over 208 kilometers to Uyuni at the Salar de Uyuni salt lake . From there, the 197 kilometer long Ruta 21 leads via Cerdas and Atocha to Tupiza , where it meets Ruta 14 , which continues to Villazón on the border with Argentina .
In Cerdas , a dirt road branches off from Ruta 21 to the northeast and after 43 kilometers reaches the nearby Tasna Buen Retiro via the Tasna Rosario mining settlement .
