Tasna Rosario is a mining settlement in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Tasna Rosario is the most populous municipality in the canton of Río Blanco in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Cotagaita in the province of Nor Chichas . The village is located at an altitude of 4292 m on the eastern edge of the volcanic cone of Cerro Tasna , which rises at 5056 m from the ridge of the Cordillera de Chichas and has rich ore deposits mainly of bismuth , tin , tungsten , copper and gold .

Tasna Rosario is located on the southeastern edge of the Bolivian Altiplano between the Cordillera de Chichas and the Cordillera de Lípez to the south . From Potosí, the national highway Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction over 208 kilometers to Uyuni at the Salar de Uyuni salt lake . From there, the 197 kilometer long Ruta 21 leads via Cerdas and Atocha to Tupiza , where it meets Ruta 14 , which continues to Villazón on the border with Argentina .
In Cerdas , a dirt road branches off from Ruta 21 to the northeast and after 41 kilometers reaches Tasna Rosario and the nearby Tasna Buen Retiro .
