2 Chainz (born September 12, 1977 in College Park , Georgia ; real name: Tauheed Epps ) is an American rapper . He started his solo career in 2007, until then he was a member of Playaz Circle and used the stage name Tity Boi .
biography
In 1997, Epps with a school friend, the hip-hop - duo Playaz Circle , as a stage name he chose Tity Boy . After ten years he started his solo career with the mixtape Me Against the World . Trap-A-Velli and All Ice on Me followed in 2009, and Me Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal was released in 2010 . Various pieces were extracted from the mixtapes, some of which still appeared under the name Tity Boy. With Codeine Cowboy was one of these pieces use on a 2011 published by DJ Tekniks & DJ Frank White Remix - Compilation Best Kept Secrets . Also that year he collaborated with David Banner and Big KRIT. In 2012, collaborations with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj followed and 2 Chainz signed a record deal with Def Jam . With guest musicians like Lil Wayne , Nicki Minaj and Mike Posner he recorded his debut album Based on a TRU Story , it was produced by Drumma Boy and The-Dream . The album was released on August 4, 2012 and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard 200 .

While the first mixtapes were still influenced by 2Pac , he found his own style with Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal . His lyrics are about luxury goods such as cars and clothing, among other things.
