Tauxigny is a former French commune with last 1,403 inhabitants (2015) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Loches and the Canton of Loches . The inhabitants are called Tauxignois in French .

On January 1, 2018, Tauxigny was merged with the municipality of Saint-Bauld to form the Commune nouvelle Tauxigny-Saint-Bauld and has no status as a Commune déléguée in the new municipality .

geography

Tauxigny is about 31 kilometers southeast of Tours on the Indre . Tauxigny is surrounded by the villages of Saint-Branchs in the north and west, Cormery in the north, Courçay in the northeast, Reignac-sur-Indre in the east, Dolus-le-Sec in the southeast, Saint-Bauld in the south, Le Louroux in the south and southwest as well as Louans to the west and southwest.
