Tayyiba Mumtaz Haneef Park (born March 23, 1979 in Upland , California ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Haneef Park started volleyball at Laguna Hills High School, which she attended from 1993 to 1997. She was also active in high jump in high school . She studied at Long Beach State from 1998 to 2001 and received various awards on the university's volleyball team. In May 2001, the universal player made her debut in the US national team , with which she reached the final at the World Cup in Germany the following year . In the 2002/03 season she played for the Italian club Pallavolo Reggio Emilia . Then Haneef-Park took third place with the USA at the 2003 Grand Prix and the World Cup . After another third place at the Grand Prix 2004 she took part in the Olympic Games in Athens ; there the US team lost to Brazil in the quarter-finals and was fifth. The following season Haneef-Park played in Japan with Takefuji Bamboo . The USA finished ninth in the World Cup . The universal player moved to Russia to VK Dynamo Kazan . In 2007 she was with the national team third in the Pan American Games , runner-up in the NORCECA championship and third in the World Cup . In the 2007/08 season she was active in Turkey at Eczacıbaşı Istanbul . In the final of the 2008 Olympic tournament , the USA had to admit defeat to Brazil again and won silver. Haneef-Park went to Japan again for a season and played for Pioneer Red Wings . In 2010 she returned from maternity leave and moved to her current club, Igtisadchi Baku . With the national team she came second at the 2011 World Cup . In 2012 in London she took part in the Olympic Games for the third time and won silver after another final defeat against Brazil.

Private

Haneef-Park married Air Force pilot Anthony Park in May 2007 . In March 2010, she gave birth to her first child.
