Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game developed and published by Konami in 1990 . It is the first video game in the Turtles series to appear on Nintendo's Game Boy and is based on the first animated TV series of the same name . When it was first published in Germany , the purchase price was around DM 70 .

action

Once again the four Turtles Leonardo , Donatello , Raphael and Michelangelo have to free the reporter April O'Neil from the clutches of Shredder , Krang and the Foot Clan . She leads her way through the sewer system , across the streets of New York City to the Technodrome , where the shredder and her kidnapped friend lived.

Gameplay

The player selects one of the four playable characters and guides him through a total of five levels in which Shredder's henchmen always get in the way. The range of opponents includes the Foot Soldiers and combat robots called Mouser and Roadkill Rodney . At the end of each level there is a final boss who has to be defeated in order to advance to the next level. If the player loses his life energy, this turtle is considered trapped and another must be selected in order to be able to continue at the appropriate point. The game ends if all four turtles have been captured. It is possible to free a trapped turtle and replenish its life energy if one of the mini-games hidden in the game is won. Picking up pizza , which is found at some points or left by defeated opponents, also affects the life energy.

The control of the character consists of the directional pad to move left or right, the A button to jump and the B button to attack. Before starting the game, the player has the option to swap the key assignment of the two buttons. While the character throws a shuriken in a crouched position , he also performs a jump kick when attacking in the air.

Level environments

There are a total of five levels, each with its own boss. The player has the option of choosing which level he would like to start with. It is necessary to complete each of the levels to complete the game. The order of the selected levels is not relevant.
