content

One night, members of the New York crime syndicate Purple Dragons are attacked by four mysterious turtle creatures during a nighttime robbery of a hi-tech electronics store. This attack is documented in the news, and Splinter accuses his four students Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo of carelessness; the only catch, however, is that the four weren't on the surface at the time. A rather blurry photo and a reference to the Purple Dragons are the only clues they get, and with these the Turtles set off for the Dragons headquarters.

Meanwhile, Hun, the leader of the Dragons, are presented with the four new Turtles as prisoners, but he immediately realizes that these four rather childish mutants are not the Turtles he has been dealing with for so long. With them he finds some capsules with a super mutagen, and in order not to have any more trouble on his side, he orders his people to eliminate the prisoners. But just then the Turtles arrive, after some amazement, free their doppelgangers and retreat with them over the roofs of the city. With the help of Splinter, the Turtles finally learn that their counterparts come from another reality , where they fought a fight with their version of the shredder and were brought into this world by an accident with the teleporter of the Technodrome . In order to bring the 1987 Turtles back home, Splinter and his Turtles decide to find the Technodrom.

In the meantime, however, in the Technodrom, which is stuck under the streets of New York, Shredder and Krang also discover that they are in another dimension. When he then also looks at the 1987 and 2003 Turtles together, the shredder has the thought that there must be a counterpart of him in this world with which he can ally himself against the Turtles. After some searching he finds his counterpart, but it turns out to be a lumpy alien named Ch'rell, also known as the Utrom Shredder, who also turns out to be extremely megalomaniac. But before they can dissect Ch'rell for study purposes, Karai, Ch'rell's adopted daughter, breaks into the Technodrom, saves her father and re-equips the Technodrom and its foot robots for the purposes of the Foot Clan. Due to the existence of its dimensional counterpart, the Utrom Shredder decides to use the teleporter of the Technodrome to conquer the rest of the Multiverse, but when he inquires about his possibilities, he makes a momentous discovery.

While the eight Turtles try to follow the Technodrom, they are attacked again by Hun, who is after the mutagen of the 1987 Turtles. During the subsequent fight, the Hun comes into contact with the mutagen and mutates into a giant turtle. The Turtles escape from him and disappear into the catacombs of the sewers, while Hun wanders aimlessly underground until he is found by Ch'rell. The two villains decide to work together again to destroy the Turtles.

Back in their den, the Turtles begin to look for a way to find a gateway into the dimension of their counterparts in order to get their "anti-technodrome equipment". Shortly before the "Dimensional Portal Stick" (a flashlight converted from the 1987 Donatello) is completed, the Hun building and the new robot Foot Ninjas are attacked. Hun captures Splinter and the Turtles can barely escape through the lamp into the universe of their counterparts. Once there, they collect everything they can to fight the Technodrom, but as they prepare for the return trip, Ch'rell attacks the city to lure the Turtles to them. With the help of their friends April O'Neil and Casey Jones, the eight Turtles get into the Technodrom and walk straight into the trap of the Utrom Shredder.

As his prisoners, the Turtles learn what Ch'rell plans to do with them: During his research, Ch'rell discovered that there are other counterparts of the Turtles in every parallel universe that the Technodrome can reach. As long as these exist, the Utrom Shredder cannot carry out his plans of conquest, which is why he now decides to destroy the source of his evil himself - the primordial dimension of the Turtles, called by him "Turtle Prime", from which all the other parallel realities arose. To find this, Ch'rell begins to break apart the dimensional structure of the Turtles in order to get to Turtle Prime through their trail; a process in which the Turtles would inevitably perish. But Karai, who overheard the conversation, recognizes the danger behind this plan - namely that with the destruction of the original dimension they would all perish - and sabotages the company of her adoptive father. Although the Utrom Shredder gets the information it wants, the Turtles stay alive and behind in the 2003 dimension.

Soon the actions of the Utrom Shredder take hold and the 2003 dimension begins to literally dissolve. The eight turtles can complete the portal stick just in time and venture into the primordial dimension, the grim, gloomy world of the Mirage Comics turtles. They quickly meet their local counterparts, and together with Karai, Splinter, the Shredder and Krang, they all take up the fight against Ch'rell. Although the Utrom Shredder proves to be practically invincible physically with the technical improvements of its robotic body, at the end of the day it falls victim to its own weapon of destruction, whereupon the parallel dimensions, which are in the process of dissolution, fully recover. The Turtles and their allies part with a new agreement and return to their homeworlds while the Mirage Turtles disappear into the night. The film ends with a scene in a drawing studio where the new comic book artists Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman have just put the finishing touches on the cover of their new comic and are wondering whether their project will even be a success.
