Telstar 18 (soccer)
Telstar 18 is the name of the official match ball for the group stage of the 2018 World Cup . The name " Telstar " goes back to the name of the ball from the soccer world championships in 1970 in Mexico and 1974 in Germany . The "18" stands for the year 2018. The soccer ball is made by Adidas .
The " Telstar Mechta " was used for the knockout phase of the 2018 World Cup .
In the 2018/19 season of the German 3rd division , the ball was used across the board.
