The official match ball for the 2011 Women's World Cup

Speedcell is the official name of the match ball sold by adidas for the 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany . The match ball was presented as part of the final draw on November 28, 2010 in Frankfurt am Main .

According to FIFA, the name Speedcell stands for speed, strength and team spirit. The ball design contains eleven lines that are supposed to represent the 11 players in a team and underlines the need for togetherness and unity. The color gradients were inspired by the rotating, fast and dynamic movements in football.

The ball was also used at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia .
