Terrence Trammell is one of the best 110-meter hurdle sprinters in the world in the first decade of the 21st century . He won the silver medal in his first international championships in 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney . After his title in the 60 meter hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in 2001 in Lisbon, he was also one of the favorites for the next outdoor world title. At the 2003 World Championships in Paris , he won the silver medal again, as well as at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In Helsinki at the 2005 World Championships , he was fifth.

At the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow, he won gold in the 60-meter hurdles and bronze in the 60-meter run. At the 2007 World Championships he was second behind Liu Xiang over 110 meter hurdles in 12.99 s .

In 2009 he won the silver medal in a very close race at the world championships in Berlin over 110 meter hurdles. The world champion Ryan Brathwaite from Barbados was only a hundredth of a second faster. Third-placed David Payne from the USA was at the same time as Trammell.

At the World Indoor Championships in 2010 he won the silver medal.
