The von Thüna , also Thun , Thune , Tuna or Dhyna , are a primeval noble, ancient knightly, baronial family that was resident in Thuringia , the Vogtland , Franconia and Saxony .

history

Already 961 was Friedhelm of Thinau of King I. Otto the Knights defeated. Heinrich von Tunna was the third Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from 1208 to 1209 . In 1422 "Konrad Dhune" (Thune) was mentioned as court master of the wife of Frederick the Elder, Landgrave of Thuringia, and as his court judge. In 1438 Hans Thunail Schösser was in Neuchâtel .

Weischütz

Heinrich, son of Friedrich Thuns zu Obernitz , settled in Weischütz in 1468 and was enfeoffed with it by Elector Ernst von Sachsen in 1485 . In 1554 Hans (II.), Christoph and Wolf von Thuna auf Weischütz, sons of the deceased Hans von Thuna, were named.

From Hans (III.) Von Thüna and his wife Maria geb. Von Wiehe built today's manor house in the manor around 1601. With the death of her nephew Heinrich III. († 1630, son of Christoph von Thüna), the Thüna family died out on Weischütz and the manor passed to other owners.

Weissenburg

From 1488 the von Thüna family came into possession of the Weißenburg . In 1492 Friedrich Thune was the bailiff of Saalfeld in Weißenburg. The brothers Heinrich and Friedrich von Thüna at Weissenburg Castle were listed in 1496 in a register of the Black Castle knighthood. In 1500 Günther the Younger, Count of Schwarzburg, enfeoffed Friedrich von Thüna of Weißenburg with villages, goods and interest. In 1529 Friedrich von Thüna had the old castle converted into a comfortable castle, which remained in the family's property until 1707.

Lauenstein

In 1506, knight Heinrich von Thüna († 1513) was given lordship and Lauenstein Castle as an afterfief from the Counts of Mansfeld . Friedrich von Thüna († 1534), Knight of the Weissenburg, Lord of Lauenstein and Obernitz , Electoral Saxon Privy Councilor of Elector Friedrich the Wise of Saxony and close friend of Martin Luther was present in 1519 as an official witness in the election of Emperor Charles V in Frankfurt . In 1521 he accompanied Martin Luther to the Diet in Worms . Christoph von Thüna the Elder (↑ 1585) had Lauenstein Castle expanded from 1551 to 1554. The von Thüna family owned this until 1622. She belonged to the Frankish imperial knighthood .

A (curved) red wedge or a red tip on the silver shield. The helmet is crowned and equipped with eight flying tournament flags, divided by red and silver, which are accompanied on the right and left by an ostrich feather. The blankets are red and white.

The Lauensteiner line carried a modified coat of arms: on a blue background a silver curved wedge, on the helmet a blue cap with a white brim, the tip of which is crowned and in which three blue-white-blue ostrich feathers are stuck. The blankets are blue and silver.
