Thailand Premier League 2004/05

The 2004/05 season of the Thailand Premier League was held for the last time with 10 teams. After that, the league reforms began and the league was then increased to 12 and then to 16 teams.

The champions of the 2004/05 season were FC Thailand Tobacco Monopoly , for the first time in its long club history. Bangkok Bank was able to save itself just before going into the second division . With an 8th place at the end of the season you had to go into the relegation, but could decide for yourself. The newly promoted FC TOT, on the other hand, had to return to the second division after only being in 9th place at the end of the season. On the other hand, the newcomer, the PEA , made it to runner-up, the greatest success in the club's history to this day.

After 2003, Sarayut Chaikamdee was the top scorer of the season for the second time.

Kor Royal Cup

The Kor Royal Cup was held at the end of the season as a Supercup between the master and runner-up. In 2005 the cup was played between FC Provincial Electricity Authority and champions FC Thailand Tobacco Monopoly . In the end, the champions clearly had the upper hand with 4: 1.

Queens Cup

The Queen's Cup was not held this year due to a lack of sponsors.

Continental competitions

BEC Tero Sasana and FC Krung Thai Bank both represented Thailand in the AFC Champions League , but did not get beyond the group stage. The Krung Thai indeed was second in the group, but with 9 points behind Busan I'Park , the group winners. BEC Tero Sasana could only get one point and was bottom of the group.

FC Thailand Tobacco Monopoly took part in the 2nd edition of the ASEAN Club Championship but could not get beyond the group stage.
