The Best of DMX is a greatest hits album by the American rapper DMX . It was released on January 26, 2010 on the labels Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings .

The songs selected for the album are from the rapper's first five studio albums. With five songs each, most of the pieces from the debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot and from the third album … And Then There Was X are included. Four tracks were taken from the fifth album Grand Champ , while two tracks each come from the second album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood and fourth album The Great Depression . There is also a song from the soundtrack to the film Belly . The download version of the best-of also includes two songs from the album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood .

Five songs on the album and the two bonus songs were produced by music producer Swizz Beatz , while Dame Grease , PK, Black Key and DJ Shok each contributed two beats. Irv Gotti was also involved in two productions, and one instrumental each comes from Tuneheadz, Nokio, Self Service, Shatek, Self Service and Lil 'Rob.

The album cover is in black and white and shows DMX's face. He has opened his mouth and looks aggressively at the viewer. On the left of the picture are the white lettering The Best of and DMX .
Guest Posts
In addition to DMX, other artists are represented on three or five songs on the album. The rapper Sheek Louch has a guest appearance in the song Get at Me Dog , while the singer Sisqó can be heard on What These Bitches Want . The track Grand Finale is a collaboration with rappers Method Man , Nas , Ja Rule . In addition, DMX is supported by rapper Drag-On and Swizz Beatz on the bonus song No Love for Me , while he works with rap group The LOX and rapper Jay-Z on the other bonus track Blackout .

The Best of DMX only entered the US charts at number 109 on March 5, 2016 and reached the highest position a week later at number 102. Overall, the album stayed in the top 200 for six weeks. In Germany, however, the sound carrier missed the charts.
In 2019 the album earned a Silver Record for over 60,000 sales in the UK .
