Lawrence works as an advisor to the UK Treasury Secretary. The lonely, aged and shy man meets young Gina in a café, with whom he falls in love at the second meeting. When Lawrence and Gina go to the G8 summit in Reykjavík , where steps are to be taken to curb global poverty, he not only finds himself in one precarious situation after another, but also professionally, as Gina confronts the assembled politicians with critical questions and distracts him more and more from his work.
