The Kid & I is a2005 American comedy film directed by Penelope Spheeris andstarring Tom Arnold and Eric Gores .

The former actor Bill Williams wants because of his ruined career suicide commit. He throws all his things away and gives his clothes to a homeless person. He drinks Bill's vodka and takes half of his pills, which thwarted his suicide plans. However, Bill drinks alcohol, takes the remaining pills, and lies down in the bathtub. Three days later, the eccentric film agent Johnny Bernstein shows up at his apartment to make him an offer. He says billionaire Davis Roman would hire Bill as a scriptwriter and actor on a movie like his son Aaron Roman's favorite movie, True Lies (1994), so that he can realize his dream of acting in an action movie. Bill, who doesn't know either the boy or the billionaire, agrees because of the fee.

In the park, Bill meets Guy Prince, who has been unemployed for over ten years. They find some similarities and Bill asks Guy if he's interested in acting. Guy agrees and they become best friends.

Johnny, Bill and Guy later meet up with Davis and his wife Shelby in a mansion. Since they are a nice couple, Bill assumes they have a normal son. But when Aaron shows up, Bill says that he is going to make a bad movie with a disabled person. He wants to get out of the project when his ex-wife, producer Susan Mandeville, shows up with a film crew and announces that she will produce the film. Soon after, Davis tells Bill that despite the infantile cerebral palsy he suffers from, Aaron is smart and dedicated. Bill, remembering the money he will receive, agrees again. Aaron, who is excited to meet Bill, tells him his ideas about the film and together they write the script. Although some ideas are unrealistic, Bill is sure they can make the film named by Aaron Two Spies . Guy is having fun too, as he flirts with local women and drinks alcohol. When Aaron wants to kiss a beautiful woman in a hot tub for the final scene, Bill agrees.

Eric Gores is the son of billionaire Alec Gores , who is the investor and founder of The Gores Group , who bought and sold Brøderbund . The younger Gores suffers from infantile cerebral palsy which is why his father hired Arnold, a neighbor in Los Angeles , to shoot a sequel to Eric's favorite film True Lies (1994), in which Arnold starred. The plot of The Kid & I is similar to Eric Gores' situation.

The proceeds from the film will go to United Cerebral Palsy, an advocacy group for disabled people in Washington, DC

Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger can be seen in cameo appearances , which is Schwarzenegger's second film appearance since he became Governor of California .
