Reviews
“Ah, the eighties - the time when explosions couldn't harm anyone as long as you ran away from them. John Cena is a second rate Arnold Schwarzenegger and you liked The Marine better the first time when he was called Phantom Command . At least that was funny back then. "
“ The Marine is taking the right approach to attract fans of films starring Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan . A cinema ticket at full price is not recommended, but anyone who longs for the blissful times of Van Damme and Seagal should at least rent this film on DVD at some point. "
“ A lot of things explode in The Marine . And in between there is a deafening amount of automatic gunfire, so that one wonders why anyone is still alive at the end of the film. "
“This is more of a pyrotechnics exhibition than a film. And John Cena looks like Matt Damon on steroids. But at least he plays cautiously in his debut, which makes his lack of acting talent less obvious. "
"Solid actioner, aiming at pyrotechnics rather than exaggerated physical violence and tangled political messages, who entertains target group-oriented with wrestling superstar John Cena, completely meaningless but visually powerful."
