The Nude Bomb (Original title: The Nude Bomb ) is an American comedy film of Clive Donner in 1980 with Don Adams , Sylvia Kristel , Rhonda Fleming , Dana Elcar and Pamela Hensley in the lead roles. The film was produced by the production company Universal based on ideas and characters from the Get Smart series by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry .

action

The modern civilized world is being blackmailed by the barbaric criminal syndicate KAOS, which threatens to use an ingenious naked bomb to send mankind back to a biblical, textile-free age . This immediately calls the defense organization PITS (Provisional Intelligence Tactical Service) on the scene, which uses its best man - the super agent Maxwell Smart - and his team of helpers on the enemy to prevent this apocalypse with all permitted and unauthorized means.

Behind the organization of KAOS is the ingenious but unscrupulous fashion designer Saint-Sauvage, who speculates on later being able to sell his own collection to men and women in this way as a monopoly . After various bomb attacks that unearth some unpleasant bare facts, Smart and his agent staff, using all their strength, succeed in unmasking the head of the gang and rendering Saint-Sauvage's diabolical machine harmless, the only clothing man made for the textile criminal would have given absolute power.

Reviews

“The completely stupid secret agent Maxwell Smart saves the earth by rendering the“ naked bomb ”of a criminal organization harmless and thus preventing the complete undressing of the entire human race. The sometimes very clumsy, generally quite entertaining and amusing James Bond parody reactivates the hero of the NBC television series "Get Smart" (1965-67, based on an idea by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry ) for the cinema of the 80s. "

“With this film, the English director Clive Donner attempted to continue an American TV series from the 1960s. His parody is a silly and boring concoction of a clumsy super agent and his adventures with an organization of villains. Even a few good gags and a lot of pretty girls don't keep the slapstick from yawning. "
