Walter Hannemann

Walter A. Hannemann (born May 2, 1912 in Atlanta , Georgia , † April 29, 2001 in San Marcos , California ) was an American film editor .

Life

After Walter Hannemann already worked in the dispatch department of MGM during his school days , he found a job as a sound engineer at Paramount Pictures relatively quickly after graduating from the University of Southern California . But it wasn't just the sound editing he was interested in, but rather the film editing that drew him to. In 1943 he worked independently as a film editor for Riders of the Deadline for the first time.

Hannemann already edited 1 episode for the series Im wilden Westen and The Range Rider in 1953 . Well-known series such as Auf der Flucht , Hawaii Fünf-Null and The Streets of San Francisco were to follow, for each of which he took over the editing for several episodes.

But it was mainly movies for which he became known. Not only did he mount tanks forward , Revenge of the Magnificent Seven and cannons for Cordoba , but also received an Oscar nomination for Best Film Editing for Two Minutes of Warning and A Boiled Rascal .
