The Red Shore was a death metal and deathcore band from Geelong , Australia , which was founded in 2004 and disbanded in 2011.

history

The group was founded in 2004 in Geelong , Australia , with Jamie Hope ( electric bass , background vocals , later vocals ), Damien Morris (vocals), Richard Johnson ( drums ) and Jason Leombruni ( electric guitar ) as musicians.

In 2005 a demo appeared with The Beloved Prosecutor . A year later this was followed by the EP Salvaging What's Left via Big Phat Adelaide Records and Modern Music. On December 19, 2007, during a concert tour in Australia with the American band All Shall Perish , the band's minivan fell off the road. The then singer Damien Morris and the driver and merchandising seller Andy Milner were killed in this accident.

Jamie Hope then changed positions within the band and acted as a singer until he left in 2009. On November 10, 2008, the debut album Unconsecrated was released on Siege of Amida Records , Rise Records and Stomp Entertainment . In May 2009 the compilation Lost Verses followed via Stomp Entertainment. The compilation entered the domestic charts at number 91 . In November 2009, the band toured Australia as the main support for The Acacia Strain .

In 2010 the group released their second album, The Avarice of Man , through Mediaskare Records , Roadrunner Records and Stomp Entertainment. It should be the band's last album. On October 5, 2011, the musicians announced the breakup of the band. The last band line-up consisted of Chase Butler ( vocals ), Jason Leombruni ( electric guitar ), Roman Koester (electric guitar), Jon Green ( electric bass , background vocals ) and Tim Shearman ( drums ).

style

Blue? from ultimate-guitar.com wrote in his review of Unconsecrated that the vocals consist of growls and screams . The electric guitars are dissonant and the bass is partially audible. The album is a concept album that deals with a battle on earth between the powers of heaven and hell. Occasionally, influences from Technical Death Metal would also be incorporated. UG Team from the same website also reviewed the album, noting that the drums are too loud and the electric guitars are too distorted and sound " fuzzy ". Each song contains fast guitar riffs or fast palm muting paired with demanding drumming. The songs Slain by the Serpent and Nephilim would show more influences from Metalcore . In addition, Nephilim is instrumental and for the first time after eight songs offers time to breathe deeply. The drums on the album are usually very fast and make use of double bass . The rhythms in the songs would be very similar to Death Metal. The songs would be about death and a journey through the apocalypse . In addition to deep growls and shouts , high screams that would remind of Dani Filth are used. On the album, the group sounds like a better version of Bring Me the Horizon . In the complex songs, the band not only processed elements from Death Metal, but also from Mathcore and Doom Metal .

On hotdamnmiami.wordpress.com , the group is referred to as a death metal and deathcore band in the review of The Avarice of Man, drawing their influences from groups like Devourment , Decapitated , something Behemoth and Hate Eternal . On the album, the group used complex guitar shredding , which expanded the music with the influence of Technical Death Metal. The drumming in the songs is also complex and the singer relies on deep growls. On the album, the group reduced the number of breakdowns .
