The Southern Oracle is a deathcore band from the Hungarian city of Szeged, founded in 2009 .
history
The Southern Oracle was created in 2009 under the name Slaughter At The Engagement Party and consists of András Kemény ( guitar ), Imre Bodócsi (guitar), Barnabás Kókai ( vocals ), Gábor Kis-Czakó ( bass ) and Peter Császár ( drums ). Former musicians of the band are János Vida, Simon István (both drums) and the guitarist Tamás Kovács.
In the year it was founded, the group released their EP I Killed Everyone! Will you marry me? which was created on my own.
So far, The Southern Oracle has supported Walls of Jericho , Carnifex , Suffokate , Veil of Maya and Trigger the Bloodshed . The group also appeared in the opening act for the band Hatebreed in Vienna / Austria .
In February 2011 the band played several concerts with Cataract in Slovenia and one in the Hungarian capital Budapest . The Southern Oracle released their debut album on June 29, 2011 under the title Hellwakening on their own. Mike Schleibaum , guitarist of Darkest Hour , can also be heard on this album . He gave his voice in the song Bring the Children Home . The edition of the album is 100 copies. The album was immediately sold out in a few days. The Hungarian Nuskull magazine rated the album positively.
In April and May 2011 a tour of Hungary with the Hungarian band Subscripe was scheduled. On June 29, 2011, the group played as the opening act for The Black Dahlia Murder in Budapest. The band played on July 8, 2011 at the Rockmaraton Festival . Famous bands such as Watain , Ill Niño , Napalm Death , Madball , Agnostic Front , Eluveitie , Dark Tranquility and Varg also performed at this 6-day festival .
The Southern Oracle signed a record deal with the German label Let It Burn Records . The band is planning a new release of their album Hellwakening , with their EP and the demo Secrecy, Let the Slaughter Begin as a digital release (with 2 cover songs - Diciple by Slayer and Davidian by Machine Head ). Hellwakening should also appear again as a CD. A Traitor Like Judas , The Blackout Argument and Scars Of Tomorrow were also signed to this label . In 2012 the group toured Hungary , Poland and Slovakia .
On March 5, 2013, the group announced that their guitarist Andras Kemény would temporarily leave the band in order to concentrate on his work outside the band. He will be replaced by Gabor Toth, who also plays with The Banished and was previously active with The Sharon Tate , on guitar. With Kemény's return, the group will consist of six musicians. The group is also currently working on new songs for Hellwakening's follow-up album . The title of the album is to be [HTH / LTH] and will be released in autumn 2013.
