Theophilus Friedrich Rothe (born February 7, 1785 in Erdmannsdorf , † February 3, 1837 in Leipzig ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Theophilus Friedrich Rothe was born the son of a landowner and village judge.

He attended the village school in his hometown and in 1797 came to the Lyceum in Chemnitz , but had to break off school due to the death of his father and became a clerk for the later Meißen chief tax inspector Fischer, who was still practicing in Augustusburg at the time ; with this he soon rose to registrar . During this time Theophilus Friedrich Rothe was prepared for the university by Pastor Lippmann in Erdmannsdorf.

At the age of 21, he came to Leipzig University in 1806 to study law and attended lectures by Professor Christian Gottlob Biener and Professor Christian Daniel Erhard . In order to make a living, he copied college notebooks for his fellow students at night and was also assistant secretary for the district deputation in Leipzig for a long time . After he had passed his exam at the Faculty of Law at Easter 1808, he was admitted to the production of the test letters to obtain the law firm and was enrolled as a lawyer four weeks after their submission . He started with Accise inspector Christian Gottlieb Haase and two years later, after his death on May 23, 1810, took over most of his business and court administrations. In 1817 Theophilus Friedrich Rothe became a consultant for the representatives of the commune.

When he was appointed court director, he administered the courts in Stötteritz , Gautzsch . Großpößna , Plaußig and Lützschena . In 1811 he was appointed Generalaccis inspector in Markranstädt , which he headed from Leipzig.

At the end of 1830, he ended his cooperation with the municipal representative body, because this was canceled after the introduction of the Saxon city regulations. In 1832 he was appointed legal special commissioner in more than twenty disputes.

Due to his extensive knowledge of feudal law , important families obtained the state's feudal reports from him and he was selected as an appraiser in such disputes.

Theophilus Friedrich Rothe was married to the daughter of the Kommerzienrat Falke from Hohenstein.
