Thomas Chung An-zu

Thomas Chung An-zu ( Chinese  鐘 安 住 Zhōng Ānzhù ; born August 7, 1952 in Yunlin ) is a Taiwanese clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic Archbishop of Taipei .

Life

Thomas Chung An-zu received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Tainan on December 26, 1981 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on October 31, 2006 auxiliary bishop in Taipei and titular bishop of Munatiana . The Archbishop of Taipei, Joseph Cheng Tsai-fa SJ , ordained him episcopal on December 30th of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Bosco Lin Chi-nan , Bishop of Tainan , and Peter Liu Cheng-chung , Bishop of Kaohsiung .

On January 24, 2008, he was appointed Bishop of Chiayi .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Taipei and Apostolic Administrator of the Kinmen and Matsu Islands on May 23, 2020 . On July 8, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue .
