Thomas Walach
Thomas Walach (* 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist , historian and politician who also works as an author , media theorist and university professor.
Walach is editor-in-chief of the online medium zackzack.at, which is related to the party Jetzt - Liste Pilz .
biography
Walach studied history at the University of Vienna and the University of Freiburg (Switzerland) . He has been working at the University of Vienna since March 2013. In 2016, Walach was a visiting lecturer at the University of Konstanz . 2018 as a visiting scholar at Stanford University . In 2016 he was awarded the UNIVIE Teaching Award of the University of Vienna.
Together with Martin Tschiggerl , Walach runs a blog for the newspaper Der Standard under the title "Historiker bloggen" .
In July 2019, Walach was presented as a list candidate for the party Jetzt - Liste Pilz for the 2019 National Council election in Austria . For this party he took part as a representative in an elephant round on the television channel Puls 4 and in a discussion program on ORF .
At the beginning of 2020, Walach and Klaus Nüchtern published the book Our Land. How we create home out.
In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Austria , Walach campaigned for Pamela Rendi-Wagner to be more closely involved in Chancellor Sebastian Kurz's crisis management .
