Tia Fuller (born March 27, 1976 in Aurora , Colorado ) is an American jazz musician ( alto and soprano saxophone , flute ) and arranger .

Live and act

Fuller grew up in a musical family; her parents Fred and Elthopia Fuller are jazz musicians. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College in Atlanta in 1998 , followed by a Masters in Jazz Education and Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000 . In 2009/10 she was a member of the female backing band on the I Am… tour of R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles , on whose DVD Me, Myself and I she can be seen as a soloist. So far (2019) she has released five albums a. a. at Mack Avenue Records with her quartet. The album Diamond Cut was nominated for a Grammy . She also worked with Ralph Peterson , TS Monk , Jon Faddis , Rufus Reid , Sean Jones , Nancy Wilson , Wycliffe Gordon and with Esperanza Spalding as the musical director of her formation Radio Music Society , with which she worked in Germany a. a. performed at the Leverkusen Jazz Days .
