Pawsat graduated from the University of Southern California and was voted four times in the top selection All-American . After winning the NCAA doubles championship with Rick Leach in 1986 , he became a professional tennis player. The following year he won his first double title on the ATP World Tour alongside Rick Leach in Stuttgart . Both were also in the final of the Queen's Club Championships . In total, he won five ATP double titles in the course of his career. Another three times he was in a double final.
Pawsat was never able to qualify for the individual competition in a Grand Slam tournament. In the doubles competition he was in the round of 16 of the Australian Open and twice in the round of 16 of the French Open .
