Timur Sulimenov

Timur Muratuly Süleimenow ( Kazakh Тимур Мұратұлы Сүлейменов , Russian Тимур Муратович Сулейменов Timur Muratowitsch Suleimenow ; born April 5, 1978 ) is a Kazakh politician . He has been Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh National Bank since March 2019 .

Life

Timur Süleimenow was born in 1978. He graduated from Pavlodar State University with a degree in management in 2000 . Through a Kazakh scholarship program, he received a Masters of Business from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2002 .

He began his professional career in 2002 as a consultant at Ernst & Young Kazakhstan in Almaty . He then worked for the Kazakh oil company KazMunayGas Exploration Production from 2006 to 2009 . In March 2009, he held a position in the Kazakh government for the first time as Deputy Minister for Economy and Budget. From March 2010 he was Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade. Between 2012 and 2016 he was a member of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, a body of the Eurasian Economic Union . On December 28, 2016, Sulimenov was appointed Minister of National Economy in the cabinet of Baqychan Saghyntayev . He held this post until February 2019. On March 2, 2019, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh National Bank .
