Tina Tandler (born June 29, 1965 in Gotha ; actually Christina Tandler ) is a German saxophonist .

Life

Growing up in Gera , she studied the accordion at the music school for nine years and began to play the saxophone at the age of 15. After graduating from high school, she studied music at the "Franz Liszt" University of Music in Weimar, majoring in saxophone and graduated with a state examination.

She then went to Berlin as a freelance musician, which was rather rare in the former GDR , and in 1986 became known as the saxophonist of the rock band Kerschowski . She also took part in productions and tours by Gerhard Gundermann , Gerhard Schöne and Angelika Mann . In the 1990s she was a saxophonist and singer at the Berlin music theater " Rumpelstil ", with which she worked for almost ten years and appeared regularly on children's television. In 2000 she left the band; since then she has been active as a soloist.

In addition to appearing as a soloist in shows and concerts, she toured with Roland Kaiser between 2006 and 2007 and has been part of his band again since 2012. She also played classical repertoire ( Darius Milhaud , Lars-Erik Larsson and Alexander Konstantinowitsch Glasunow ) with orchestras such as the Robert Schumann Philharmonie Chemnitz , the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Prussian Chamber Orchestra, as well as film music, arrangements and cross-genre music together with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg .

Tina Tandler is organizing a series of jazz and blues concerts in the Zingst spa resort . In addition, she gives concerts throughout Germany with the Tina Tandler Band (previously Tina Tandler Blue Band ) and writes her own pieces together with the pianist Christoph Reuter.
