The Tyrolean provincial exhibition was patterned after the former world exhibitions for the first time from 15 June to 4 October 1893 under the "Protectorate SM d. Emperor Franz Josef I. ”at the Innsbruck Exhibition Center - at that time for the entire Crown Land of the Fürstete Grafschaft Tirol . Topics were "Horses, cattle and small cattle, fruit and horticulture, South Tyrolean wine exhibition, dairy, fish and beekeeping, hunting and forestry, tourism, mining, construction and engineering, industrial hygiene as well as treasures of ancient Tyrolean art and art industry." “Daily concerts by the exhibition orchestra , a circus, an oriental labyrinth, an international cycling competition and the presentation of customs and traditions”.

After the Second World War, another state exhibition was held in Innsbruck in 1969, but only for the state of Tyrol . After another long hiatus, exhibitions were held regularly in the 1980s and 1990s. A South Tyrolean provincial exhibition was held in 1992 in Neustift Abbey on the subject of “850 Years of the Neustift Canons' Monastery” . The exhibition series Tiroler Landesausstellung is since 1995 a joint exhibition of the three countries Tyrol , South Tyrol and Trentino (Welschtirol) on common cultural topics; from 2005 to 2009 it took place on a rotating basis.
