The Tiroler Wasserkraft Arena is an ice rink in Innsbruck , Austria . The arena is part of a complex of several sports and event facilities in Innsbruck called OlympiaWorld Innsbruck . These include the Innsbruck Olympic Hall , the Tivoli-Neu football stadium and the Igls bobsleigh rink .
The Tyrolean Wasserkraft Arena was built in around 15 months for the 2005 ice hockey world championship . The hall is located right next to the larger Innsbruck Olympic Hall, which was inaugurated in 1964. It was renovated at the same time with a view to the ice hockey tournament. The small arena offers 3,058 grandstand seats, 1,428 of which are standing. The arena is designed for ice sports such as ice hockey , figure skating , curling , short track or ice stock sport , but ball sports , martial arts , boxing , wrestling or indoor climbing are also possible.
The HC Innsbruck here carries since 2005 its home games in the Austrian Hockey League from. The large hall next door is only used for play-off games when needed.
