Career

Todd Ford began his career as an ice hockey player in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , where he was active from 2000 to 2004 for the Swift Current Broncos , Prince George Cougars and Vancouver Giants . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the third round as a total of 74th player from the Toronto Maple Leafs , for which he however never played. Instead, the goalkeeper ran from 2004 to 2006 for the Pensacola Ice Pilots in the ECHL and in the following two years for their league rivals Columbia Inferno . At the same time he occasionally played for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League . After he had spent the 2008/09 season with the Victoria Salmon Kings in the ECHL, he played from 2009 to 2011 for their league rivals South Carolina Stingrays . During his time with the Stingrays he worked for the AHL teams Texas Stars , Portland Pirates and Hershey Bears and was named ECHL Goaltender of the Year in the 2009/10 season and was appointed to the ECHL First All-Star Team .

For the 2011/12 season , Ford was committed by the Heilbronner Falken from the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga . In January 2012 he returned to Canada for personal reasons and terminated his contract.
