Thomas "Tom" Andrew Felton (born September 22, 1987 in Epsom , Surrey , England ) is a British actor and singer . He is best known for portraying Draco Malfoy in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter novels.
Life
Tom Felton was born in Kensington, London, to Peter and Sharon Felton. He is the youngest of four brothers. At the age of seven he started singing in the church choir and over time has also become a member of several other choirs. He lived with his family in Surrey and attended a special school for boys after finishing elementary school.
Felton had been in front of the camera since the age of eight. He has appeared in a number of commercials and television series . He became known in 1997 in the role of Peagreen Clock in the movie Ein Fall für die Borger . In 1999 he played Louis Leonowens on the side of Jodie Foster in Anna and the King . With the role of the magic student Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, he finally gained international fame.
In addition to and after the Harry Potter films, Felton was also repeatedly seen in other projects in supporting roles. He portrayed himself in a guest role in the comedy men's trip in 2010. In 2011, he took on the role of Dodge Landon in the movie Planet of the Apes: Prevolution . 2014 he played the lead role of Erich Blunt in the first season of TNT - television series Murder in the First .
In 2009 he released his first album In Good Hands , on which he sings and plays the guitar . His song If You Could be Anywhere was also featured on the soundtrack to the German film Turkish for Beginners .
In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
