Tom Jug (born April 10, 1970 in Jesenice , SR Slovenia ) is a former Slovenian ice hockey player .

Career

Jug was initially active in the youth department of HK Jesenice before he went on the ice for HK Kranjska Gora in the Yugoslav ice hockey league from 1986 to 1988 . For the 1988/89 season, the defender moved back to HK Jesenice, with whom he took part in the game operation of the Slovenian ice hockey league from 1991 . With the team he became Slovenian champion in 1992 , 1993 and 1994 . The national player spent the 1994/95 season at HK Olimpija Ljubljana , with whom Jug won another Slovenian league title in 1995. He then returned to Jesenice, where the defender ended his active career in 2000.

International

For Yugoslavia , Jug took part in the 1990 B-Junior World Championship . For Slovenia , the defender was on the ice at the C-World Championships in 1993 , 1994 , 1995 and 1996 . He was also named the best defender at the 1996 World Cup.
