Tom Schwarz (born May 29, 1994 in Halle / Saale ) is a German professional boxer .

Black fights for the Magdeburg SES boxing stable . His manager is Burim Sylejmani and he is trained by Rene Friese .

Career

The talented German heavyweight hopeful won his first professional match on August 29, 2013 at the age of 19 by knocking out after 20 seconds in the first round against 34-year-old Mario Schmidt. Another eleven development fights followed until Schwarz was allowed to box a well-known opponent for the first time on July 11, 2015 with the German-Kazakh Konstantin Airich . In a concentrated performance, Schwarz defeated his competitor in his 13th professional fight by a unanimous decision on points after eight rounds.

In his 15th professional fight on November 15, 2015, Black was allowed to fight the powerful 20-year-old German-Russian Ilja Mezencev for the vacant WBO youth world title. Already in the first round Black went down against Mezencev, who at this point could win each of his ten professional fights by knockout, and was counted. In the further course of the fight, Black was able to dominate and finally win the fight in the seventh round by knockout and thus also the WBO youth world title.

On June 4, 2016, Schwarz fought against German Dennis Lewandowski, who was also unbeaten in nine fights, for the vacant WBC youth world championship. This fight also represented the second defense of the WBO youth world championship title. Black clearly dominated the ten-round fight and won by unanimous decision on points.

On April 22, 2017, Schwarz won the vacant WBO intercontinental title by knocking out the 40-year-old Bosnian Adnan Redzovic (18-1-0) by winning the second round.

On April 21, 2018, Schwarz competed against Senad Gashi, a German-Kosovar who had also been unbeaten up to that point . In an extremely controversial fight there were several head butts on the part of Gashi, which resulted in his disqualification in the 6th round of the fight. Up to this point the fight was even, with Black being brought into trouble a few times by the 13 cm smaller Gashi. In the same year, there were two knockout victories against the Mexicans Julian Fernandez and Christian Lewandowski from Greifswald.

In March 2019 he defended the WBO intercontinental heavyweight title against Kristijan Krstacic and thus remained unbeaten after 24 professional fights in his career.

In June 2019 he was defeated by Tyson Fury in Las Vegas by technical knockout in the 2nd round. It is his first professional defeat. With this defeat he also lost the WBO intercontinental championship. That same year followed in August in the Czech Republic against Radek Varak, before he won an IBF title fight in September against the German Ilja Mezencev after his surrender.
