Toms Skujiņš (born June 15, 1991 in Sigulda ) is a Latvian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2011 Toms Skujiņš received his first contract with the French Continental Team La Pomme Marseille . In his first year there, he was second in the U23 event of the Tour of Flanders behind Salvatore Puccio . In the 2013 season he won a stage at the Tour de Blida in Algeria , the overall ranking of the Course de la Paix and the bronze medal in the road race of the U23 European Championships and was Latvian U23 road racing champion. At the road world championships at the end of the season, he finished fifth in the road race of the U23 class. In 2015 he won the Tour de Beauce .

In 2015 Skujiņš won a stage of the California Tour and then rode in the overall leader's jersey for a few days. He also won the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic . Due to further top placements in races in the USA, he won the overall ranking of the UCI America Tour 2015 . In 2018 he won, among other things, another stage and the mountain classification of the California Tour . In the same year he was Latvian champion in the individual time trial and the following year in road racing .
