Tona is a Catalan city ​​in the province of Barcelona in northeastern Spain . It is in the comarca of Osona .

location

Tona lies on the Vic plain and is only 10 kilometers away. Due to the favorable location between the cities of Barcelona , Manresa and Girona , the place has very good transport connections.

The city has always been characterized by agriculture and livestock. After sulphide-containing springs were discovered in 1874 and during the first half of the 20th century , Tona initially developed into a regionally important bathing resort. However, changes in tourist behavior and the advancement of medicine subsequently led to a decline in these activities. In recent years Tona has once again gained importance as a summer retreat and retirement home.
