Toni Dahlman (born September 3, 1979 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with EC Graz 99ers in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2011 .

Career

Toni Dahlman began his career as an ice hockey player in the offspring of Karhu-Kissat, for whom he made his debut in the third division of Finland in 1997. He then moved to the junior division of Jokerit Helsinki , for which he was used in the top division for U20 juniors. During the 1998/99 season he made his debut in the SM-liiga for the men's team Jokerits. The season 2000/01 he spent at Ilves Tampere , where he was a permanent member of the professional squad and completed 65 games in the SM-liiga, where he got 28 points scorer. For this achievement he was awarded the Jarmo Wasama commemorative trophy as the best rookie .

He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2001 in the ninth round as a total of 286th player by the Ottawa Senators , for whom he was on the ice from 2001 to 2003 for two years in the National Hockey League . Dahlman could not assert himself in Ottawa, but was mainly used in the American Hockey League for Ottawa's farm teams , the Grand Rapids Griffins and Binghamton Senators . The attacker then returned to Finland, where he first played for a season with his ex-club Ilves Tampere, and for two more years with Jokerit Helsinki, where he began his professional career in 1998.

After another season in the SM-liiga at Lukko Rauma , Dahlman moved abroad for the second time in his career when he played in the Swedish Elitserien at Mora IK in the 2007/08 season . In autumn 2008 Dahlman returned to his Finnish homeland, where he received a contract with the reigning champions Kärpät Oulu , with whom he was again Finnish runner-up in the 2008/09 season. In September 2009 he was committed by HIFK Helsinki , for which he completed seven games in the SM-liiga. In January 2010 he was signed by KalPa Kuopio . There he was able to earn a regular place straight away, but left the club again at the end of the season and joined the Slovenian club HK Jesenice from the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League for the 2010/11 season . There, too, the Finn knew how to convince, so that in January 2011 he finally switched to the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League . With the Lower Saxony he was runner-up at the end of the season.

For the 2011/12 season Dahlman returned to the Austrian Ice Hockey League, where he received a contract with EC Graz 99ers .
