Toni Tetzlaff (born March 13, 1871 in Mainz , † December 16, 1947 in Berlin ; born Antonie Tetzlaff ) was a German actress .

Life

The daughter of the actor and director Karl Tetzlaff received acting lessons from her father and made her debut at the age of 16 in Salzburg. This was followed by engagements at the Court Theater Kassel, Court Theater Stuttgart and at the Imperial Theater in St. Petersburg .

Since 1895 she was a member of the ensemble at the Stadttheater Hamburg . She later moved to Berlin theaters. Her film career began during the First World War , and Toni Tetzlaff became a frequently used supporting actress. Sometimes she was seen in bigger roles like in 1927 in the film His Biggest Bluff with Harry Piel as the owner of a jewelry store or in 1930 in Hans in alle Gassen as the mother of the main actor Hans Albers . She had her last stage appearances after the end of the Second World War at the Berlin Stage of Youth.
