Tornado Alicia Black (born May 12, 1998 in Boca Raton ) is an American tennis player .
Career
Tornado Alicia Black has been playing tennis since she was three and prefers the hard court as a playing surface. She primarily plays in ITF tournaments, where she has won two individual titles at the ITF Women's Circuit .
She achieved her first major success at the Citi Open 2014 , when she was able to advance to the main draw with a wildcard as a qualifier , where she then lost 4: 6 and 0: 6 in the first round against Sarina Dijas . In the same year she received a wildcard for qualifying for the US Open 2014 . But she failed here in the second qualifying round. She was also able to compete in doubles with her partner Bernarda Pera with a wildcard . But they failed there in the first round. In mixed she competed with her compatriot Ernesto Escobedo ; but they also failed in the first round.
For the US Open 2015 she also received a wildcard for the qualification , but failed in the first qualifying round against Romina Oprandi with 4: 6 and 0: 6. In doubles, she failed with her partner in the second round.
After the US Open 2015, Black did not play a professional tournament and has not been in the world rankings since August 29, 2016. She had problems with her hip and had to have an operation.

Personal
Tornado Alicia is the older sister of Hurricane Tyra Black , who is also a professional tennis player.
Her mother, Gayal Black, named her daughters after types of storms, hence the first names "Hurricane" and "Tornado" as part of a marketing strategy for their tennis careers.
