action

A young woman named Fiona finds a job as domestic help for the Bauer family. The rules that apply in this terraced house in the middle of the Ruhr area are quickly explained to her. It should help to cope with everyday life.

A time of acclimatization and discovery begins. Jürgen is still a toddler and wants to play. He must be accompanied to swimming lessons, otherwise he will get lost. Nicole is not yet of legal age, but already has a boyfriend. Ulli is twice as old as Nicole. Father Wolfgang is constantly on the move and is at home almost only on weekends. Mother Claudia is all too much. She doesn't leave the house anymore. With Fiona it should finally be different.

Fiona will get up every morning and prepare everyone for today without asking: Does it even make sense to start today? She will get rid of the dirt that they produced yesterday and the day before yesterday and last year, the dirt that they left behind because today seemed pointless to them. She'll do that without asking why. That's why they brought Fiona. So that someone is there who doesn't ask. And that's what she came for.

It's disturbing what's going on in this house. An all-encompassing loneliness hovers over this place. We don't talk to each other. When things get cozy, things get tense quickly. Only the older neighbor is worried about the young woman. But she cannot prevent Fiona from approaching her fate. This is how it seems at first and is not clear until the end.

Reviews

“Yes, disturbing little films are still being made in Germany without funding. Jessica Krummacher stages a petty-bourgeois nightmare with her graduation film. "
