The Münchner Filmwerkstatt e. V. is a non-profit association founded in 1995 to promote film art and culture. He sees himself as the center of the independent film scene in Munich and beyond. The board is the film director and producer Martin Blankemeyer .

The film workshop produces films (including Der Tag der Liberation , Der Goldene Nazivampir von Absam 2 - The Secret of Kottlitz Castle and Der Rote Punkt ), offers seminars, courses and workshops on film, organizes the KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival and a regular jour fixe on the 15th of each month. As a member of MedienCampus Bayern , AG Kurzfilm , afk-Fernsehverein München , Bundesverband Jugend und Film and Paritätisches Bildungswerk as well as internationally at NISI MASA and the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, she cooperates with other media initiatives . The association also runs the film.coop with its own premises in the Westend industrial estate not far from the Donnersbergerbrücke , where most of its events take place.
