The AG Kurzfilm eV - Bundesverband Deutscher Kurzfilm eV represents the interests of German short films . The association based in Dresden was founded in 2002. The main sponsors include the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media , the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art and the City of Dresden's Cultural Office. The members of the association are composed of film and art colleges , film festivals , short film distributors and other publicly funded institutions in the film and cinema industry.

The federal association has a seat on the administrative board of the Filmförderungsanstalt and is a member of german films . He also runs the short film web portal shortfilm.de with the Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen .

Catalog

Every year since 2004 the association has published the short film catalog "German Short Films", which shows a selection of 100 "outstanding" German short films. The compilation includes short films from the fields of feature, animation, experimental and documentary films put together by a jury.

The catalog is presented for the first time each year at the Festival du Court-Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand and then distributed at the Berlinale and other national and international festivals and film markets. The catalog is also available as an online database.
